Cooking Up a Batch

"Scrape, Scrape everywhere but not a bit to read."

The word "Scrape" certainly has its fans. Aside from this lovely publication, it's also been the appellation for a Low-Rider magazine and Bassoon Enthusiasts publication.

Ponder the above and await Scrape Magazine's return to this Universe while lounging around in your very own "Kiss the Cook" tank top. Only 14 bucks! Also available as a regular t-shirt, for the muscularly challenged.

Huh?

Somebody must have goofed up: we are bufoons, not bassonists. Anyways, the international readership part is true, but he's not our editor. This lunatic is. We are certain that he's fine musician, though. I wonder if he knows about Scrape.TV?

Sample Taste from our New Issue

Jersey City:
Urbanity Renewed >>

Whenever I hear the phrase "Urban Renewal," my mind instantly conjures up images of leisure suites, disco music, and the all around 70's malaise. It was a way for wealthy suburban dwelling politicians to feel good about the mess left behind after the mass exodus of "upwardly mobile" families. (and get inner city votes.)

Whatever the plans were for "rejuvenation," they almost always seemed to fail, leaving behind architectural marvels that looked futuristic at the time. But now, these concrete monsters look more like leftover props from Logan's Run and the seventies incarnation of Buck Rogers. So, when I first heard about plans to "rejuvenate" Jersey City, I was skeptical to say the least.

Despite the odds stacked against such grand plans like these, the Downtown Jersey City I knew as a kid is no more.
