n e w s & r u m o r s Someone, somewhere is making a prank call Duece Bros. hit the net There's an new and talented prank group out there called The Duece Bros. Greg Bauer raved, these guys have convincing calls, even when the premise is outrageous. The Crankings have hooked them up with a spot on the net, complete with Realaudio clips to download. Check 'em out at http://members.aol.com/crankings/. They may also make an appearance on The Art of Prank Calls.
The BBBs have been in contact with people at the Howard Stern show, but there is no word yet from the Stern show on whether they will make an appearance. Perhaps Captain Janks can help this happen (see his comments in the interview we did with him). In addition, the Bum Bar Bastards plan to contact Fox and the Simpsons about a possible guest appearance on the show. It's a well known fact that the Tube Bar material has been used on the Simpsons, and maybe this will be a chance for the Bastards to get some credit for it.
Doug "Phone Freak" Burke says he is taking a vacation back to his old stomping ground in Michigan. His former groups, the Phone Punks and Voice Lords are gonna meet together and record a reunion album. Jason, from the Voice Lords, has family connections to a recording studio, so the plan is to record the calls with professional equipment.
Despite the growing pains of moving to a new location at Frank's World, The Art of Prank Calls plans to add a slew of new net.pranksters to its collection of 100+ full Realaudio pranks. The Prank-A-Fonez, Vendetta Calls, Patrick and Chad, Phone Freak, the Redneck Pranksters, and many more aspiring pranksters all have new material ready to go out to the world and should appear in the coming months.
The Phoneys report that they want to follow their debut album, "KungFuCrazy," with "something our fans can really sink their teeth into...no, not human flesh, GREAT PRANK CALLS!" However, both master copies of KungFuCrazy have apparently been lost. If the originals are found, they plan to distribute copies to friends and radio shows. In addition, the Phoneys plan to overhaul their web page and put on a contest for a guest to appear on their new tape. To enter the contest, you must send a prank call about a public swimming pool to BadBoy2112@aol.com.
