E x t r a I n f o: The Bum Bar Bastards' "Tavern Tour"
"Here are ten samples from the new album." "The first two are of our old friend Red." "The next four are of Freddy. This guy owned a tavern in Hoboken. When we first started calling him way back in the late sixties, he got pissed at us frequently. Then he started to try and figure out who we were by playing along. We called this guy for about 11 years. He was so versatile, trying to trace the calls, imitating our 'mother,' trying to piss us off by saying he screwed our whole family. We found out later that he, like Red, would have slit our throats. He had all types of people looking for us." "Lt. Sweetan was really a police lieutenant on the Hoboken police force. He hung out at Judy's bar 'The Gull House,' also in Hoboken. His feelings towards us are obvious. He gets quite specific as to how we were gonna end up." "Frank Kennedy - this is one of my favorites. His voice, along with Red's, is a classic, a bonafide tough guy. This guy was even bigger than Red and everything he said he would do he could do, and more. He died before we started calling Red... too bad, we could have set up a conflict between his bar, 'The Staff Bar' and Red at the Tube Bar... heh, heh, heh." "Those are some of the new voices along the 'Tavern Tour,' and we hope everyone enjoys hearing from them as much as we enjoyed busting their chops."
