Since bursting forth on the international scene with their experimentalist TV show, the Teletubbies have been acting more like rock stars than performance artists or kids TV show stars, for that matter.
Maybe thing are different on their home planet, but here on earth, they're doing serious damage.

Teletubby La La Trashes Los Angeles Hotel Room
[Dateline Los Angeles]Since becoming famous, the Teletubbies can't seem to stay out of trouble. La La getting thrown out of the Beverly Hills Hotel seems only to be the most recent example of "too much, too soon."

This latest scandal to hit the tabloids is yet another nightmare for their PR folks back in the UK.

Spin doctors for the Teletubbies immediately played up on La La's reputation for being the "sensitve one" and blamed her behavior on the shootings in Colorado.
"Emotionally distraught over the senseless violence she saw in the news reports on MSNBC, La La took the TV and smashed it. All other reports of damage to the room are exaggerated," read the official statement.

Hotel employees and source close to La La, however, tell a different story. "La La came back to her room at around 2:00 in the morning cyring hysterically, " said one hotel worker, who wishes to remain anonymous. According to fabricated reports, La La discovered Dipsy at a local jazz hotspot having dinner with supermodel Kate Moss. She reportedly threw Dispy's drink into his face, called him names, and stormed off. The police were called in around 2:30 after noise complaints were called into the front desk. "We heard crying, glass breaking, and a whole lot of commotion," said one guest. |
According to unverified reports, it is estimated that La La caused more than $10,000 worth of damage to her hotel suite.
Immediately following the incident, phonelines to the UK were jammed as hundreds of tabloid reporters called into their offices to tell of the scnadalous news. Even internet traffic suffered as a result.
A Public Relations Nightmare
"First, it was Po's multiple DUI arrest. Then they were busted in New York for smuggling drugs. They can't even go to a soccer match without causing a ruckus," said one public relations consultant.
Kate Moss and the other Teletubbies were not available for comment and denied our requests for an interview.
